I missed your McSweeney’s piece when it came out and I swear I snorted when I clicked on the link and read the headline. Hilarious.
Hugs from this stranger on the internet who discovered you via Substack and is always excited to see you in my inbox. You’re doing all the right things. Those small things are actually big things—and you’ll never regret them.
I love that you can be with Amy’s mom right now, but I really hate you’re going through so much.
I’m sure it feels annoying to hear “I’d read your memoir!” And “if I were an agent, I’d sign you in a heartbeat!” But that’s all I think every time you mention the rejections, and I know I’m not your only fan. I’m rooting for you because you’re incredibly talented and kind and hard-working, but I’m also rooting for you because dammit I want to read everything you write!
I had a sucky year also so I hear you. I am also, like you, very grateful for the wonderful things in 2024. Not every year can be a banner year. Most are pretty average and I fight against that each time. Just know we hear you and I think you’re pretty amazing. Keep on keeping on and know that I always look forward to your next post. Lots of hugs.
Life can be really hard. Thanks for being real and sharing your beautiful, honest writing in the midst of your struggles. I hope you feel supported and cared for. You aren’t alone. ❤️
I am rooting for you. You would tell me that the novel word count is good! You would cheer me on. Everything is unfolding as it can. You are a wonderful writer and human. Sending hugs <3
Sending love and hopes for gently letting any goals you're not hitting go while you "be human" in other areas of your life. (Something I have immense trouble with, so way easier said than done)

I just read this Substack, https://open.substack.com/pub/magpieandmaple/p/no-im-not-glowing-up-this-autumn?r=7akzb&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
"No I'm not Glowing Up This Autumn." Permission to just be. Right now that's all that matters.
This is how last year felt for me, so I get it. It just sucks. Down with toxic positivity.
Rooting for you always. <3
I’m sorry this year was so hard. I think naming that and hoping for better is a very human response.
